Get all the important messages from the authorities to your mobile device
In this project, I was responsible for ux-, ui- and visual design, concept design, user research and user testing, and prototyping. I was involved in 2016-2021.
It all started with a crazy idea like some of the greatest outcomes tend to do
In an internal meeting of the project team the early idea of a mobile application was raised up. Mobile usage was rising but there was no decent applications available for the easy and secure communication between authorities and citizens. We proposed the idea to our client and they loved it.
First things right - right things first
As a designer, I started by thinking about the critical use cases and the most important features there should be. I decided to start quickly by creating a concrete app prototype. Something like a proof-of-concept version, which we could demo to our client (DVV), stakeholders and end users to get some more insight and validation for the idea.
I made a clickable prototype in just a few days and ran some user testing sessions. Feedback was great and some minor iterations were done. Our software developers created the first working iOS app with mock data in just a few weeks. Totally, only 2 months had passed from the idea to the completion of the first application version.
I presented the application and its’ core features to the key actors of Finnish public sector. During the workshop I facilitated, we created loads of possibilities for the app.
The released app was a success
The first production version of the application was released not that long after that. I designed iOS and Android versions of the application for both phone and tablet. During the development work I conducted several user tests with different user groups and. Accessibility was also taken into account very carefully.
The finished mobile application was released in 2018. Currently the app’s ratings are 4.2 in the App Store and 4.8 stars in the Play Store. It’s being used by the big authorities like Vero, Magistrate, Pension Insurance Company and lot more.
